How to merge PDF files

  1. 1

    Add your PDFs

Choose two or more PDF files, or drop them on the box. They open in your browser and are never uploaded.

  2. 2

    Put them in order

Drag a file, or use the arrow buttons, to change the order. Open a file to see its pages and remove any you do not want.

  3. 3

    Merge and download

Press Merge, then download the single PDF. It keeps the pages in the order you chose.

Join PDFs into one file

Sending one PDF is easier than sending five. Merge a quote and its terms, scanned pages from a phone, or the documents for a visa or loan application into a single file that opens in order on any device.

Good to know

  • Quality stays the same. Pages are copied across as they are, so text stays sharp and searchable.
  • Too big for email? Shrink the result with the PDF compressor.
  • Need only some pages? Use Split PDF to pull out a range.
  • Starting from photos or scans? Turn them into pages first with JPG and PNG to PDF.
  • Making invoices? The invoice generator saves a PDF you can merge with your terms or a delivery note.

Frequently asked questions

Are my PDF files uploaded anywhere?

No. Your files are opened and joined by your own browser, on your device. Nothing is sent to a server, so contracts, invoices and ID scans stay private.

How do I change the order of the pages?

Drag a file up or down the list, or use its arrow buttons. The merged PDF follows the list from top to bottom. To reorder pages inside one file, split it first and then merge the parts in the order you want.

Can I leave out pages from one of the files?

Yes. Open a file with “Show pages and remove some”, then click the pages you want to drop. They are left out of the merged PDF and the original file is not changed.

Why does it say a file is protected or damaged?

A PDF locked with a password cannot be changed here, so remove the password in the program that made it first. A damaged file, or a file that is not really a PDF, cannot be read. Try saving it again from its original source.

Is there a limit on file size or number of files?

There is no limit set by us. Everything happens in your device memory, so very large files or dozens of files at once may be slow on a phone. Merge in smaller batches if that happens.
