    Pay stubs without the paperwork

A pay stub shows what someone earned in a pay period and what was taken out. Small employers, household employers and people who pay a few workers often need a clean copy to hand over, and employees sometimes need one as proof of income. This tool lays out the earnings, the deductions and the net pay on one page, using your logo and colours.

    Good to know

    • You stay in control of the numbers. Nothing is looked up or guessed, so check each figure against your payroll records before you send it.
    • Usual deductions are one tap away. Add federal tax, state tax, Social Security or Medicare as rows, then type the amounts.
    • Paid by the hour? Log the hours first with the timesheet generator.
    • Paying a contractor instead? Send an invoice or a receipt.
    • Several pages to send? Join them with Merge PDF.

    Frequently asked questions

Does it work out taxes for me?

No. You type every amount yourself, including federal and state tax, Social Security and Medicare. Tax rules change by place and year, and this tool does not guess them. Use the figures from your payroll provider or accountant.

Is a pay stub from here an official document?

It is a record-keeping document that shows what you entered. It is not tax or payroll advice, and it does not replace the records your payroll provider or tax authority requires. The PDF says so at the bottom.

What do the current and year to date columns mean?

Current is the amount for this pay period. Year to date is the running total since the start of the year, including this period. The year to date column and totals appear only when you fill in at least one year to date amount.

How is the net pay calculated?

Net pay is gross pay minus total deductions, using the amounts you entered. For an earnings line with hours and a rate but no amount, the tool multiplies hours by rate for you. If you type an amount, your amount is used instead.

    Where is my information stored?

In your own browser. Drafts are saved on your device so you can come back to them, and the PDF is made on your device. Nothing you type is uploaded.
